Sketchbox: Covid-19

Visual Journal

As a means of documenting my own thoughts and feelings surrounding Covid-19 I created artwork for each day of social distancing. While I didn't have the same physical restraints as my previous sketchbox work they still centred around my collection of stencils, paper offcuts and anything else to hand.

Sketchbox Covid 19. Two of the daily artworks. Left: 'Keep on' in black stencil lettering spaced apart by arrows, on yellow paper. Right: 'Stop here a while' written in two contrasting stencil typefaces overlaid on top of each other, on a bright red GF Smith Paper sample.
Sketchbox Artwork, stencil lettering and black lines on green paper, spelling out 'restless'. Day 17.
Sketchbox Covid 19. Two of the daily artworks. Left: 'Clear skies betray unease' and 'it's not if but when' in black stencil lettering on a sheet of off-white paper with green crosses. Right: 'Over and Over' written in black on yellow paper, wobbly concentric circles drawn over the top.

Each day I produced a response to developing news, or thoughts and feelings emerging from the unprecedented circumstances.
